My Review of the biggest Bollywood Blockbuster of 2011. Spoiler: I liked it. A lot!
The most God-awful piece of shit movie ever. I hear they’re making more. At least I’ll get to buy more Toys!
AARAKSHAN is a good movie, with powerful performances, great scenes… but loses its impact as it drags on beyond the cohesive story. The topic of ‘Reservation’ is also so technical and specific that it seems like it wouldn’t hold the attentions of a general audience.
CRAZY STUPID LOVE is a must watch for anyone that’s into romantic comedies. It’s also a must watch for anyone who HATES romantic comedies. My Review here…
GAME was a great film with near perfect execution; a modern day whodunit thriller that excites from beginning to end.
UDAAN is a slow and emotional movie that won’t be everyone’s cup of tea… but damn it’s endearing… check it!
SUCKER PUNCH is a visual and orgasmic mash up of every genre imaginable squashed into an orgy of awesome-ness. It’s SO bad… it’s good!!
MY SISTER’S KEEPER is a great film, executed very well, and never panders to the audience with a ‘look how sad this is’ mentality. Great film. Check it out!
TEES MAAR KHAN is the worst possible ‘con man’ movie in existence. You’d think that would give it some novelty… it doesn’t. It’s just bad.
Joseph Gordon-Levitt plays the title character of HESHER, an unapologetic, metal grunge bum, who ejaculates words of wisdom through the most horribly profane monologues ever! Also, it’s a beautiful movie… seriously.
SOURCE CODE is basically diet INCEPTION, without the insanely technical science and math.
RAKHTA CHARITA pretty much solidifies the fact that Vivek Oberoi can’t act for shit, unless he’s directed by Ram Gopal Varma.
SUPER 8 becomes really like every other Spielberg produced/directed movie involving aliens. The same ol’ Alien trapped on Earth story that we’ve seen a billion times.
BAND BAJAA BAARAAT is a very unique film with a story that is quite original and has a lot of elements that make is suitable for everyone from families to even cynics that despise the conventional Bollywood love stories.
GREEN LANTERN wasn’t just a bad super hero adaption, it was just a bad movie in general.
The narration in the beginning of JAANE TU… YA JAANE NA, mocks the formulaic aspects of an Indian love story, so it right away sets the tone for the rest of the film. And it actually works.
Thor is about a brash and arrogant God of Thunder who is banished from his world (Asgard) by his Dad for being a dick. No, really…”
KNIGHT AND DAY works as a mindless entertainer that runs in the background during a party that one can tune in and out of.
X-MEN: FIRST CLASS is awesome. I will punch anyone in the face that says otherwise. It is quite possibly the best comic book film ever made.
