I am glad I’m not the only one who found TDKR to be 1. A bit meh 2. A lot bloated. I think people got way too caught up in the hype and forgot to judge this film on it’s actual merits. It’s still better than most things that are out there on the mainstream but when you judge it against other Nolan films, it’s lacking.

Honestly Abbi, I walked out of it going ‘Oh yea!’ But the more I thought about it, the more I went: “Umm… yea…”

The themes, symbolism, sub plots all seemed too much with not enough impact. I’m willing to excuse it as it’s the bookend to the Franchise, but on it’s own. meh.

Hi Shah! I know there are people who’d be mad that you ONLY gave it a 3/5 stars but I’m not one of them 😀 I mean I LOVED Nolan’s Batman trilogy but there are plot holes the size of Texas in this one and you’ve pointed out some of them. My biggest beef is HOW in the world did Bruce Wayne get to Gotham from the prison, that’s supposedly in another island, with no shoes, no money AND no Alfred!! Yet somehow he manages to do so, AND he knows exactly where Catwoman would be too, WOW! That to me is even more mind-boggling than the ending. Still it’s a fun movie though.

Don’t forget that he had time to shave + haircut in the midst of Gotham’s impending doom. A lot of those plotholes stem from using the cliched technique of a countdown clock in the story. A lot of movies have this ‘countdown’ to the climax, which is almost always anti-climactic in and of itself. So to skip the logical scenes in favour of time, the story skips ahead to the more ‘important’ parts.

I feel like Nolan was forced to make a trilogy, where one wasn’t needed at all.

      Thanks for the comment Ruth!
