A spin on one of Bollywood’s finest comedies, GOL MAAL… comes in the form of this year’s BOL BACHCHAN.
SINGHAM is yet another South Indian remake of awesome beatdowns and one liners.
OMKARA is a Indian adaptation of William Shakespeare’s OTHELLO… and it’s freaking awesome in all respects!
I never realized how much the Bollywood classic film, MR. INDIA, was like a super hero movie until now!
LAHME is considered a classic by the legendary, late Yash Chopra… and it’s not difficult to see why.
DABANGG is a family entertainer with awesome action and decent comedy, but most importantly… Salman sporting a simple ‘stache!
ROWDY RATHORE is a masterful tribute / parody to 90’s Bollywood movies; complete with the exaggerated action, cheesy dialogues, worse dancing and simplistic storytelling!
GANGS OF WASSEYPUR is an epic anthology on the need for revenge and how it perpetuates through bloodlines.
THE DIRTY PICTURE is one of the best films of 2012 with Vidya Balan winning best actress, repeatedly. My Review here.
DON 2 is the original sequel to the 2006 remake of the 1978 film of the same name. But it seems like without an original to follow, the sequel’s plot falls flat on its face.
A WEDNESDAY is a small, but brilliant movie with a new twist on the typical ‘Urban Terrorist’ story. A must watch, if no other reason but to see Naseeruddin Shah & Anupam Kher together!
KHUDA KAY LIYE is the best film I’ve seen that has been able to handle the portrayals of Muslims in America, and terrorism in general, without any one sided bias or generic retarded-ness.
BBUDDAH HOGA TERRA BAAP almost mocks the fact that an old Amitabh Bachchan is the hero of an action flick… but they do so with pride and balls, no apologies.
The Bollywood version of ACCEPTED comes with FALTU. Don’t ask me why I watched this movie… it was a slow day. 😐
The ANDAAZ APNA APNA of a new generation comes in the form of DELHI BELLY. Don’t watch if your sensibilities are easily offended… you wuss.
My Review of the biggest Bollywood Blockbuster of 2011. Spoiler: I liked it. A lot!
AARAKSHAN is a good movie, with powerful performances, great scenes… but loses its impact as it drags on beyond the cohesive story. The topic of ‘Reservation’ is also so technical and specific that it seems like it wouldn’t hold the attentions of a general audience.
